For ultrasound, X-ray and dental X-ray you need a Symphony Box in addition to the Symphony subscription. This article explains how it works, from your request until your images arrive in Fuga automatically. You can find the current prices at fuga.eu/pricing.
1. Send us your list of devices
After your request, we ask for a list of the devices you want to connect. For each device, please include:
- the type (X-ray, ultrasound, dental X-ray, ...)
- the supplier or installer, with a contact person, phone number and email address
With this list, we check together with the supplier whether each device can be connected via DICOM. Some devices need an additional DICOM licence for this, which you purchase from the supplier. It is best to ask them about this early.
2. Shipping the box
The box is only shipped once it is clear that your devices can actually be connected. For that reason there is no fixed delivery time: it depends mainly on how quickly the check with your supplier is completed.
3. Connecting the box
The box arrives by post, ready to use. The parcel contains the box, a USB-C power adapter and a network cable. No technician visit is needed.
- Place the box near a power socket and a free network port (in the wall, on your router or on your switch), on the same network as the devices to be connected.
- Connect the network cable. Wi-Fi is not supported.
- Connect the USB-C adapter to the box and to a power socket.
- A green light comes on at the front of the box. Give the box about 5 minutes to start up and connect.
- Check the network port on the box: two small lights should be on there, one green and one orange. They show that the network connection works and that data is coming through. If they stay off, check that the cable is firmly plugged in at both ends, or try another network port.
The network in your practice is your own responsibility, or that of your IT partner. Make sure the box and all devices to be connected are on the same network. If your devices are on a separate network, have your IT partner look at this before you connect the box.
There are no settings or passwords to enter. Leave the box plugged in permanently: it runs automatic maintenance at night. Let us know at fuga@sonetas.eu that the box is connected.
4. Connecting your devices
Once the box is online, we coordinate with your supplier: the supplier configures the device to send its images to the box, and we take care of the settings on our side. How quickly this happens also depends on the supplier's schedule. After that, your images appear in Fuga automatically.
What can you already do in the meantime?
- Connections that don't need a box, such as Idexx VetConnect PLUS or FUSE (Zoetis), can be set up as soon as your Symphony subscription is active. See Symphony: subscription only or Symphony Box?
- You can add images manually for the time being: export them on the device as JPEG or PNG and add them to the animal's record under Documents.
Box not working?
