Bigame allows you to register TVDs via their platform. Fuga provides an interface with Bigame.
You can activate the registration by ticking Settings => Practice preferences => Belgium tab => Bigame. You then fill in your Bigame username (in the form BE12345678) and password (or 'token') under Settings => My preferences => General. As a veterinarian, you can obtain this password/token by logging in to this website.
Next, in the animal record you will see, depending on the animal species, one or more of the following options under 'Bigame category':
- Chick
- Goat
- Laying hen
- Unweaned piglets
- Weaned piglets
- Sows/boars
- Fattening pigs
- Veal calves
- Adult dairy cattle
- Adult beef cattle
- Young bovine (8 to 24 months)
- Calf (3 to 8 months)
- Calf (< 3 months)
Per animal (group) you can indicate the primary category and which categories are also present in the herd.
We recommend that you activate 'Animal (group) identification cache', under Settings => My preferences => General. This allows you to enter the ear tag with every entry of products or protocols.
With identification there is a difference depending on whether you have administered something or not. If you administer a product, you must put the number of animals in front of it. For example "3 cattle" or "2 1657-4, 6584-8". If you do not do this, you will get the following error message: "Message from Bigame: -30:371: The quantity of medicine is invalid"
If you simply make a sale, you do not need to add the number of animals.
It is also best to check once whether the herd numbers of the clients are filled in. These are needed for Bigame and must be presented in the format BE12345678-0101. Fuga does try to get the number right if, for example, the 'BE' prefix is missing.
What to adjust in the product record?
Under the product record you will see 'Cti-ext code' as an extra field. This must be filled in for the products that are passed on to Bigame. You can find a list of products and their corresponding cti-ext codes via the report for Bigame.
This report can only be requested if you have entered your Bigame account in Fuga.
When registering supplied products, a treatment duration must be entered for Bigame. This is expressed in days (a number), but in Fuga we only have a textual description. Fuga has logic built in that attempts to derive the number of days from the textual description. Below you will find a list of letters that Fuga detects in the text field. If there is a digit before one of the letters, Fuga will interpret that number as the number of days.
- if the text field contains a 'j' (jour), Fuga tries to interpret the text before the 'j' as a number
- if the text field contains a 'd' (day), Fuga tries to interpret the text before the 'd' as a number
- if the text field contains an 's' (semaine), Fuga tries to interpret the text before the 's' as a number and the number is multiplied by 7
- if the text field contains a 'w' (week), Fuga tries to interpret the text before the 'w' as a number and the number is multiplied by 7
So how does it work?
Behind the scenes, Fuga keeps a list of outgoing products that must be reported to Bigame. An outgoing product will be added to this list if the product has a cti-ext code, if the animal has a 'Bigame category' specified, and if the herd number is specified.
The only thing you need to do at the end of the month (or the quarter) is go to To be submitted to Bigame and press 'Submit to Bigame' to register the outgoing products with Bigame. Note that you should be sure to add a TVD in the corresponding consultation. You can also remove outgoing products from the list.
Via the report Submitted to Bigame you can also request a list of supplied products you have already registered with Bigame.
