Fuga can automatically send vaccination and other treatment reminders to your clients. You switch this on per channel under Settings => Practice preferences => Treatment Reminders. These are the default settings:

When are the reminders sent?

Fuga sends the reminders every evening between 20:30 and 21:00. How many days in advance depends on the type of treatment:

Type of treatmentNumber of days before the expected treatment date
Vaccination or other treatment14
Product treatment2

Who receives a reminder?

If a main person is set on the animal, only that person receives a reminder. Otherwise all persons of the client receive a reminder, if they meet the conditions:

ChannelWho automatically receives a reminder?
Automatic via mailPersons with an e-mail address whose "Reminder treatment" preference is set to E-mail.
Automatic via MyPetsPersons who have logged in to myPets at least once.
Automatic via smsPersons with a mobile number whose "Reminder treatment" preference is set to SMS. Fuga SMS must be activated for this.

The three channels are independent of each other. A myPets client whose preference is e-mail therefore receives both a myPets notification and an e-mail, if both channels are on.

Do you want to be sure your client receives the reminder? Then choose SMS. An e-mail can end up in spam, an SMS cannot. Do you read all your e-mails every day? Probably not. But do you read all your text messages? More about Fuga SMS. Are your mails not arriving? Read this article.

Do you want to change the preference of many clients at once, for example to SMS? Use Consultation => Actions => Show all actions => Change communication preferences.

Reminders by post are never sent automatically. You send those via the manual procedure.

Settings per protocol

Each protocol has two settings that decide whether an automatic reminder goes out:

  • Send automatically: if this is set to No, Fuga sends no automatic reminders for that protocol, on any channel. You can still send those reminders manually.
  • No reminder when appointment in 4 weeks: if the client already has an appointment for that animal in the next 4 weeks, no reminder is sent. If your practice works with Concerto, this setting is taken over from Concerto.

Why did a client not receive a reminder?

When a reminder was not sent automatically, Fuga records the reason. You see it on the animal record, under Treatment status, in the column "No automatic reminder reason".
